Pernil

  • 1 fresh picnic (pork)
  • 1/2 – 1 cup Sofrito
  • 2 packets sazon
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Onion powder
  1. Slather sofrito on the meat.
  2. Stab holes into the meat to infuse it with sofrito.
  3. Stuff the holes with more sofrito
  4. Sprinkle the packets of sazon on the meat and rub in.
  5. Sprinkle onion powder on the meat and rub in.
  6. Sprinkle minced garlic on meat.
  7. Put the picnic in an oven bag and stick it in the fridge for 8-48hrs.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350. Once preheated, place the picnic (in the oven bag) in a roaster. Add some water to the bag and the roasted to help with sticking.
  9. Bake 40-45min per pound.
